This is a newb posting so bare with me...

I have relied on Spectrum Nexus for the updated Berserk chapters but does anyone know where I can find another site? The translators used on SN vary so I'm trying to compare dialogue with a different site.

Also, I just want to lay this out... I would LOVE for Shierke (however you spell the witch's name) to stay at Elfham in the upcoming chapters. She's adorable, but the connection she has with Guts is disturbing to me. I'm not sure if she simply idolizes due to his willpower or if she really is in love. I was finally fed up with her during the scene when she overhears Guts talk about Caska and Shierke says "I'm fine with that, because I already have something between me and him."

Anyways, enough of that suppressed anger, I still hold high hopes that Guts will be reunited with Caska!

I bet he will. I mean, him getting intimate with Shierke simply smells like Pedobear O_o

What's disturbing about Schierke's feelings for Guts? It's just a childish crush. There's nothing out of the ordinary about it, and such things are commonplace in kids today. Whether or not she grows out of it remains to be seen, but Guts doesn't even reciprocate her feelings anyway, and never will.

Anyway, to answer your question, Evil Genius is popular. Spectrum Nexus just seems to host TheHawks' translations, and they are/were a notoriously incompetent bunch (who reportedly even stole other people's translations). Also, be sure to support the manga and buy Dark Horse's localized releases.

Oh come on... All young girls have those crushes on older guys... It's just Sheirke doesn't have TV to ogle Johnny Depp or Hugh Jackman, so she has to make due with what she has.

I meant "disturbing" in terms that Shierke is aware that Guts whole purpose in living is for Caska, but still has the side crush. I guess I'm completely thrown off by the "loli" character compared to Caska's (post apocalyptic) strong willed demeanor. You're right about Guts never acknowledging Shierke's feelings, except for that one scene when he protects her in the inn and refers to her as "my girl."

I always had the tendency to compare the Skull Knight/Flora to Guts/Shierke. Although the manga never specified the relationship between SK and Flora, it seems they were close in the past. Perhaps Guts and Shierke will reflect the same bond in the future?

So? Farnese is every bit as guilty of harboring a crush on Guts while fully knowing where his heart belongs. However, neither she nor Schierke ever take any action to try "wooing" him, or displaying jealousy towards Casca, so there's no need to be disturbed. You can't control how you feel about something or someone deep down, but you can control your actions.

As for the whole "my girl" scene, I wouldn't place too much stock on it. Translation for it varies; in Evil Genius he calls "My family," while in Dark Horse he calls her "our girl." Maybe DrPepperPro can shed some light on it, as I don't know what the original Japanese wording was, but I'm going to guess it was something whose meaning can't be properly preserved in English.

It's almost like every girl in Berserk that has daddy issues has a thing for Guts.
As for the "My girl" remark, I was under the impression that he said that to the drunks to make them think she was his daughter.

In reference to a different topic, what do you guys think of the child that Caska found on the shore, before the alligators attacked? Do you believe it's Guts and Caska's child? (referring to the scene when both characters caught the child, thus portraying the image of a "family") I'm really excited to see how Miura will tie the kid in later chapters.
