It doesn't matter. We were bringing Quantum Mechanics into the free will debate so I added my thoughts on it. I'm not really turning your arguments against you, instead I am adding my take on them. I definitely don't ascribe to the idea that consciousness has special properties which can affect quantum probabilities. You on the other hand, do. Any sort of thread like this is not going to reach a "conclusion" because it all comes down to things which are just abstract opinions and musings.

I didn't even refer to you in this one ^, you just replied to it like I was quoting something you said. I didn't understand that you thought I was quoting you here, so I proceeded to talk about what I assumed you were getting at. That's why I brought up your views...

Ah, my mistake then. Personally, I don't find science incompatible with metaphysics, but to be fair, you were the one who brought up the laws of physics to support the idea that free will is unnecessary, and that's why I replied that our current understanding of physics is wandering away from the assumption of a deterministic universe.

Yeah... I guess I just don't think free will could possibly exist without something extraordinary to allow for it. My thoughts go a little like this: all events in nature are prompted by physical forces (things may have a slight randomness, but they don't reverse trajectory arbitrarily). Human actions are events in nature.... So what makes human actions any different from the rest of nature?

Human actions are fueled by sensory rewards taught firm birth. As time passes, and we grow older, we lose more, and more, control over our personal rewards. Some find peace in monetary rewards, and dedicate their life to that pursuit. Some find the answer through the eye of a needle, and pursue the never ending fix. Some stumble along with an outreached hand, begging for an answer that will always slip through their fingertips. Maybe when our eyes close for the final time, and dirt fills our mouth, and worms eat our flesh. Will we finally find the answers we're grasping for.
